Currently managing Progressive Consulting, Melissa has held key management roles with reputable New Zealand companies which saw her specialise in Human Resources and health and safety. 

Melissa can use her practical experience and knowledge to assist in developing and implementing human resource strategies.  She can also assist with recruitment and the selection process.

Melissa specialises in health and safety.  She is a competent auditor of health and safety systems and can assist with the development and implementation of health and safety management systems.  Melissa is a member of NZISM and HRINZ.

Melissa specialises in the agricultural sector previously owning and directing a dairy farm.

Julie has strong commercial acumen and is focused on delivering HR solutions that align with the overall business strategy.

Julie was an associate Solicitor in Marlborough and Canterbury until five years ago, after deciding that a career change was needed when she realised she was more interested in how the business worked and how to improve the service to clients than the technical aspects of law.

While completing her MBA an opportunity came up at Sport Canterbury to be a senior manager of a team based throughout the South Island. This team delivered the Green Prescription Programme and other health funded programmes to support well-being of the community. This involved a large team of staff and employees as well as extensive engagement with the Board and other stakeholders.


Julie has over 15 years of experience and has enjoyed a varitey of roles focussed on businnesses improvement and getting the best out of people.

her legal background as well as management experience provides the ideal mix of knowledge and skillls to support clients with their business.

Senior HR Consultant

Therese is passionate about talent acquisition, people development and supporting businesses to implement effective systems, policies and procedures.

Therese grew up in North Otago and studied at Canterbury University and Christchurch College of Education. After her studies she did her first OE, returning to NZ to start a family. The second OE involved the whole family living and working in North Wales, followed by Tasmania, before returning to NZ and a career in HR.

Therese joined Progressive Consulting in November 2017 and has over 20 years experience working in a range of roles and industries including hospitality, retail management and education. Therese uses her experience and knowledge to assist businesses to develop and implement human resource strategies. She assists with recruitment and selection, and training and development.

Therese is the current Branch President of the local Human Resource Institute of New Zealand.

Client Services Manager

Amy joined the Progressive Consulting Team in September 2016.

Amy graduated in 2011 with a Diploma in Human Resources Management and has a strong administrative background, having worked in both the public and private sectors in a variety of administrative and managerial roles.

Amy's role with Progressive Consulting includes business development and managing our busy team. Amy has a strong commitment to delivering on client expectations and will work closely with the team to ensure these are met. Outside of work, Amy is a busy Mum to two young children, and enjoys spending time at home on her lifestyle block with her family.

Health and Safety Consultant

Michelle joins Progressive Consulting after doing Health and Safety for 8 years in the sawmilling industry. She has gained her Diploma in Health and Safety and her NEBOSH certificate.

Prior to this job Michelle worked in the Health sector as a Coordinator for home support through the Ministry of Health and ACC.

Michelle has moved to Invercargill from the Waikato to join Progressive Consulting and is happy to bring her husband and four children back to the South Island where she was born.

Maggie Fea - HR Consultant

The Progressive Consulting team welcomed Maggie on board in 2016.  Hailing from Queenstown Maggie has worked in a variety of tourism and adventure roles, whilst completing an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Marketing and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources at Otago University.  Maggie joins the team as a Human Resource Consultant, putting her research and communication skills to good use in assisting businesses to explore and negotiate solutions to all workplace challenges.

Outside of work Maggie can be found swanning around in sash and tiara after winning the New Zealand Rose of Tralee competition, or joining in with any team who will have her to play any sport on offer.  She loves to be on the slopes in winter and the lake in summer.

Jessica Harvey - HR Consultant

Jess joined the Progressive Consulting team and is based in the sunny Hawke's Bay with her family.  Jess has worked in senior HR roles for more than 10 years and understands the people side of a business from managing people and performance to implementing effective systems to manage compliance with legislation such as health and safety. Jess holds a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in HR Management and has a proven track record of supporting businesses with practical and effective solutions.

Michelle recently joined Progressive Consulting in May 2017 and is based in the Hawkes Bay Region.

Michelle has approximately 10 years experience in Human Resources working in a variety of industries. She has spent the previous 4 years working as an HR practitioner in Healthcare, predominantly focusing on recuitment and employment relations. Michelle is looking forward to building relationships with our clients and supporting businesses with their HR needs.

Outside of work Michelle is also a qualified makeup artist and often has a creative project on the go.
